Kevin Harris MAUD '80
Kevin Harris, FAIA is a graduate of the LSU School of Architecture and Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. Harris taught at LSU’s School of Architecture for 10 years before pursuing a full-time architectural practice.
Harris was awarded and completed three grants to study and document historic arthitectural typologies: one for the downtown Baton Rouge’s residential architecture and two for Louisiana’s plantation homes. He has over 28 years experience in residential design and his firm’s work has garnered local, state, regional and national design awards.
He is a member of the local, state and national AIA. He is past chair of the advisory group for the Small Project Practitioners Knowledge Community, served on the AIA Small Firm Task Force and numerous design award juries. He regularly lectures at industry related events and has presented at five national AIA conventions.
Harris serves as an advisor for the Southern Pine Council and in 2007 he was awarded the prestigious Long-Sullivan Award for the use and promotion of southern pine.
